Postpartum Doula Support

I will support your family through the postpartum period and providing education and sensitive, non-judgmental support and companionship. I not only assist with newborn care and your recovery, but I can also assist with meal preparation, light household tasks, laundry, and organizing.

I ensure Doula Care Postpartum services are individually tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. The daily tasks and focus of care the doula provides depend on the priorities requested or needed by your family.

  • Feeding, Bathing, Diapering, Umbilical Cord Care, Soothing, and Swaddling Techniques
  • Assistance in understanding and reading your baby’s cues for feeding and sleeping
  • Diapering options including cloth diaper education
  • Baby Wearing
  • Knowledgeable Lactation Support and Bottle feeding Support
  • Newborn Care and Education
  • Postnatal Recovery Care
  • Nourishing Meal Preparation
  • Light Housekeeping and Errands
  • Sibling Care

A postpartum doula differs significantly from baby nurses, who tend solely to the baby’s needs. Instead, I am there for the whole family. I support and educate by reassuring, encouraging and mentoring families to care for their newborns and promoting parent-infant bonding.

Overnight Doula

Your overnight doula support is tailored to your family’s needs. Overnight care with Monica may be anytime from the first night home to several times per week.

You settle into bed, knowing that you will get real rest.

The next part is up to you.

If bottle feeding, Monica feeds, changes, burps, and settles your baby back to sleep.

You can enjoy a whole night’s rest.

For breastfeeding, Monica brings your baby to you when the baby is ready to feed, assists with latch/position, and observes to ensure the baby is nursing effectively and you are comfortable. After the baby finishes eating, you go back to sleep for a few more hours of sound sleep until the next feed.
Monica changes and soothes the baby back to sleep.
Monica rests or naps as the baby sleeps until the next feed.

Monica is trained and experienced in supporting families in making decisions about their newborns. Honoring and supporting those decisions is what we do best.
